Tremor Analyzer

Frequency and Amplitude Tremor Assessment

What This Tool Measures

Frequency Tremor (F0 Modulation)

Measures cyclic variations in fundamental frequency (pitch). FTrF indicates the rate of modulation (Hz), FTrI indicates its intensity (%).

Amplitude Tremor (Loudness Modulation)

Measures cyclic variations in voice intensity (loudness). ATrF indicates the rate of modulation (Hz), ATrI indicates its intensity (%).

Clinical Relevance

  • Parkinson's disease: typically shows 4-7 Hz tremor
  • Essential tremor: often faster rate (5-8 Hz)
  • Aging voice: may show low-intensity tremor

Recording Guidelines

Best Practices

  • Sustained /a/ vowel at comfortable pitch
  • Hold for at least 5 seconds (longer is better)
  • Try to keep pitch and loudness as steady as possible
  • Use comfortable, natural voice - don't force

What to Avoid

  • Recordings shorter than 3 seconds
  • Intentional pitch changes during recording
  • Loudness variations during recording
  • Background noise or interruptions
